Darby Dan Farm’s first-year stallion Blazing Sevens, a Classic-placed son of Good Magic and impressive winner of the historic Champagne S. (G1) at two, has had his first mares checked in foal, the farm announced today.
Named a TDN Rising Star as a 2-year-old after a debut victory at Saratoga—winning at six furlongs by 6 ¼ lengths—Blazing Sevens won the stallion-making Champagne S. (G1) for owner Rodeo Creek Racing and trainer Chad Brown in just his third career outing. Overcoming a troubled start, Blazing Sevens made a sweeping move on the far turn and won the Champagne by a commanding 3 ¼ lengths. At three in the second leg of the Triple Crown, Blazing Sevens was beaten just a head by multiple Grade 1 winner National Treasure in the Preakness S. (G1) at Pimlico.
By Good Magic, the sire of Grade 1 winners Dornoch, Muth, and Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Mage, Blazing Sevens is out of the winning Warrior’s Reward mare Trophy Girl, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner King David and stakes winner Bertsgoldenmissile. Bred in Kentucky by Tracy Farmer, Blazing Sevens was a Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Sale graduate.
